Meet Miss Jen
Hi, I am Miss Jen and I am the Head Librarian of the Children’s Department here at the Greece Public Library. I have a lifelong love of children’s books; especially picture books! One of my favorite children’s authors is Eric Carle. I love the way his books incorporate art, color, and language.
I am passionate about the idea of children learning through play and enjoyed incorporating those ideas into the design of the new Story Garden. I enjoy all types of programming, especially for our littlest patrons! I enjoy watching babies as they grow and develop into young readers. I am delighted to meet families and share the love of reading and books. When you are here, please stop by and say hello!
Meet Miss Laura
My name is Miss Laura and I’m one of the Children’s Librarians at the Greece Public Library.
I have worked at the Greece Public Library for 16 years! Story times are one of my favorite things to do at the library! I also coordinate the Bop ‘Til You Drop Dance Program, Potty Tales, the Summer Reading Program and other children’s programs. One of the projects I enjoy organizing is choosing the books for the Story Walk that surrounds the pond near the playground. I love working at the library because I get to meet so many wonderful families during story times and I have the opportunity to teach the value of early literacy. I also enjoy helping people find the information they need and I love connecting people to new books.
Meet Miss Karen
Hi everyone! My name is Miss Karen and I am one of the Children’s Librarians here at the Greece Public Library. I have worked for the library for nearly eight years and specialize in Early Literacy Education. I enjoy sharing my love of reading and lifelong learning with the community. I think the library is one of the best places to be!
You will find me hosting the Tween Book Club, Teen Advisory Board, Makers Club and a variety of STEAM programs for Tweens ages 9 – 12. I also offer the Books and Beyond Story Time for all ages on Tuesday mornings. My favorite story time activity is sharing books and playing with scarves!
I enjoy finding great books for the children’s collections I manage. My favorite children’s author is Tomie dePaola. I would love to help you find the perfect book!
Meet Miss April
Hello! My name is Miss April and I am one of the children’s librarians at the Greece Public Library. I love collecting children’s books and am so glad I can share this interest with children at the library. My favorite picture books are silly ones! My top one is There’s a Monster at the End of this Book.
You can find me hosting the Family Craft Night program on Wednesday evenings and singing at Rhythm and Rhyme Storytime. I am passionate and dedicated to teaching children about the value of music, movement, and literacy. It is also fun to bring out my ukulele and sing our welcome songs together!
Doing the things I love at work is a dream for me and I hope to get to know all of the families who use the library.
Meet Miss Jenna
Hi, I’m Miss Jenna and I’m one of the children’s librarians at the Greece Public Library. I’ve worked in libraries for almost 10 years in various departments, but children’s has always been my favorite. I love reading picture books and juvenile fiction, but I love helping others find joy in reading even more! It’s impossible to choose, but my favorite author/illustrator of picture books is Beatrix Potter; I love how welcoming and sweet all the animals are! You can usually find me planning story times, STEM programs, designing the Story Walk, or making reading lists.
Being able to work in this community and get to know families that visit us in the Story Garden is one of the biggest joys in my life! Come and say hello anytime!
