VIP Pass Program

The Very Important Places (V.I.P.) pass provides a substantial discount to enjoy the best of Rochester and Monroe County’s arts and cultural treasures. Visit a participating library and use your valid MCLS library card to check out a V.I.P. pass. Bring the V.I.P. pass to the venue and enjoy discounted admissions on ticket purchases!

Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse
50% off admission for up to 2 people. Not to be combined with another offer.

Corning Museum of Glass
One free adult Museum admission. Kids and teens 17 and under are always free! Live glassblowing daily. 10% discount on memberships.

Genesee Country Village and Museum
$3 off admission for up to four people. Valid July 1– Oct 14, 2022 & May 1 – June 30, 2023.

George Eastman Museum
Buy one admission get one free. Not to be combined with another offer.

Geva Theater
Buy one ticket at regular price and get 50% off the price of a second ticket.

National Susan B. Anthony House
Up to two free admissions on the weekend, or up to four free admissions January–February and on weekdays. Not valid for programs or special events.

New York Museum of Transportation
Buy one admission and get one of equal or lesser value for free. Limit 1 free admission per visit. Not valid for special events with special admission.

Rochester Museum and Science Center
Good for RMSC or Strasenburgh Planetarium. Buy one admission, get one of equal or lesser value. Limit of 1 free pass per visit. Not valid for special events.

Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra
Buy one ticket and get half off your second ticket of equal or greater value. Seating zones 1-3 only. Subject to availability. Not to be used in conjunction with other discounts.

 

Empire Pass

The Monroe County Library System is proud to offer Empire Passes for New York State Parks, which allows users to borrow free admission passes to hundreds of New York State Parks. The Empire Pass is your ticket to the great outdoors!–swim, hike, fish, play; it’s all free!

Here’s how it works:

* Visit your participating local library and check out an Empire Pass- just like a book!

* Take the pass to a participating park and enjoy FREE admission!

* After you have enjoyed a great day, return the pass to the library.

Where to visit

The pass is usable at many New York State park facilities, such as Cayuga Lake, Letchworth, Stony Brook, Watkins Glen and Pine Grove Boat Launch.

Using the Empire Pass

The Empire Pass permits unlimited vehicle access to most facilities operated by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic preservation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Each Empire pass is usable for one motor vehicles except those used in the business of transporting passengers for hire including public or private buses, shuttles ,taxis, limousines or other livery vehicles. The Empire Pass will not be accepted if it has been altered in any way. The Empire Pass must be presented upon entry to the facility. Without the pass, you will be required to pay the vehicle entry fee. Lost or stolen passes will be reported to the New York State Parks and will be charged a replacement fee.
